My twists have lasted well throughout this whole process, and it's time to do a twist out. On thursday, I will take them down. Here is my takedown process:
- moisturize and seal the night before you take your twists out. I don't moisturize my hair much in twistouts to keep the curl pattern for the first two days.
- the day you take out your twists, use shea butter and stretch out your hair in sections with your hands. This elongates the curls and helps them "clump" better. Shea butter works best for me, but whatever butter, like mango butter, works.
I find that this way, my twistout comes out amazing and stays un-frizzy for a long time.
Hope that helps!
